Michael has held leadership positions in New York, Paris, Tokyo & Sydney with Citibank, Unilever, Westpac, Travelex, Coca-Cola and Fuji. Michael has a Master’s Degree in Commerce & more than 9 years’ global experience at the International Assistance Group, with over 60 Medical/Travel Alarm centres globally, 150 million end users, providing in excess of 4,000 air ambulance evaluations & commercial repatriations annually. Clients have included Zurich, Bupa, Chubb, Australian Government, NZ Defence forces, and leading insurance brokers. His strategic experience also includes board director level representation across international and local corporations as well as NFPs.
During Michael’s career his teams have achieved the #1 market position for customer service; successfully launching into 12 new APAC countries in under 24 months; organically acquired 125,000 new clients in <12 months repressing a 30% net increase; delivered $10 billion portfolio growth and provided a 312% increase in profits for shareholders in < 18 months. Michael’s teams have also produced 25% in operational savings through real-time analytics.
But, it’s Michael’s ongoing obsession with customer centricity & innovation that led him to his current role as CEO of TravelCard Australia — the world’s first real-time travel insurance. Michael is now responsible in 2018 for the global expansion into the Australian market of this truly revolutionary, multi award winning solution – which recently celebrated a 1 million customer milestone.
